The Winnetka Public Schools do not participate in the Illinois School Nutrition program and therefore does not provide school lunch at Crow Island, Greeley, Hubbard Woods, and Skokie. These schools also lack on-site kitchens. Therefore, students must bring lunch from home or have the option to order from Marlas Lunch through the PTO partnership.
How it works: The PTO partners with Marlas Lunch to deliver meals from local restaurants. Food is distributed directly to students or kept in PTO warming drawers.
Management: The PTO runs this program, independent of The Winnetka Public Schools, as an optional alternative to bringing lunch from home. The PTO uses the funds raised via Marlas lunch to provide necessary support for other PTO activities within the schools.
